“When Terry died, it affected me more than I ever imagined it would. You see, he has been a part of my life for so many years that the loss of all those amazing future books really struck me. My birthday is around the same time as his annual book release and that was always my special birthday treat – his new book, a bottle of wine and a weekend curled up in Discworld. When I finished the Shepherds Crown, and realised that was the last time I’d read one of his books for the first time, I was really down.
But then I found Discworld.com. What a treasure trove! There are books I had never heard of – signed and sealed by Sir Terry himself! There are prints, t-shirts, mugs, pins, all sorts of amazing things that can ease the grief of losing my all-time favourite author. I’m now the proud owner of the Tiffany paper cut, the Richard Dimbleby lecture, a first edition of the Shepherds Crown as well as an amazing embossed Art of the Discworld book, which had me smiling all the way through as I recognised all the characters who’ve been part of my life for so long. Such fantastic products – and so beautifully packed and quickly posted! Moist Lipwig would be proud.
