Description

Night Watch · Special hardback · Cover by Joe Bundock · Winner of the 2026 Penguin Cover Design Award

Doubleday and the Terry Pratchett Estate have issued a special clothbound hardback of Night Watch, with brand-new artwork by Joe Bundock, first prize in the Adult Fiction category of Penguin’s 2026 Cover Design Award. Bundock, then a Visual Communication student at Leeds Arts University, built the design from linocut printmaking and the look of medieval woodcuts and illuminated manuscripts. The brief asked for a cover that kept the book firmly in fantasy while meeting its political and moral bite. The judges, including Rob Wilkins of the Estate and Transworld art director Beci Kelly, gave it first place for that hand-made, series-ready quality. This edition adapts the winning artwork with foil detailing and printed endpapers.

Night Watch is the twenty-ninth Discworld novel and the sixth City Watch book. In 2025 it also entered Penguin Modern Classics. The story remains what it always was: Vimes, a revolution, a murderer called Carcer, and the twenty-fifth of May. Satire of power on the surface; community, duty and stubborn decency underneath.

‘Don’t put your trust in revolutions. They always come round again. That’s why they’re called revolutions.’

Truth. Justice. Freedom. Reasonably priced love. And a hard-boiled egg.

Every copy from Discworld.com is exclusively embossed with Terry’s signature plate, enhanced with a gold metallic wafer, embossed with Terry’s ever popular honey bee design. You will not find that treatment anywhere else.
