Salisbury Baron’s Trail

Saturday, 1st August , 2015

We are delighted to support the Salisbury Baron’s Charter Project, a collection of 25 stunningly decorated medieval baron sculptures, placed throughout the streets of Salisbury, sponsored by local businesses and created and painted by a wide range of artists and community groups. As you will know, Terry was very fond of his local city and he is represented in a tribute Baron ‘The Discworld Knight’ painted by artist Paul Kidby, who created so much of the Discworld artwork.

The Discworld Knight reflects Paul’s career as illustrator for the Discworld novels. Paul has given it Terry’s face, and embellished his cloak, shield and sword with a montage of Discworld Imagery. This design was already in production at the time of Terry’s passing on 12th March 2015. His family has kindly given permission for The Discworld Knight to be included in The Barons’ Charter project in his memory.

The Barons are currently displayed as an art trail across the city and will remain there until 6 September 2015. They will then be auctioned in October to raise money for The Trussell Trust, the UK’s leading poverty charity.
